The post Hamster Kombat Airdrop Shock: Only 43% Eligible, 2.3 Million Banned! appeared first on Coinpedia Fintech News
Hamster Kombat, one of the fastest-growing games in the Web3 space, has announced a significant token airdrop for its inaugural season. However, only 43% of the game’s players are eligible, leaving many users surprised by the results. Out of 300 million registered users of the popular Telegram-based clicker game, just 131 million will receive a share of the 60 billion tokens being distributed.
Eligibility Limited?!
Given such a large player base, expectations were high for broader participation in the airdrop. Yet, developers revealed that strict requirements led to only 43% of users qualifying. From the total of 60 billion Hamster Kombat (HMSTR) tokens, a staggering 88.75% will be airdropped immediately to eligible players, while the remaining 11.25% will be vested and accessible 10 months after the token is listed on exchanges.
This translates to approximately 53.25 billion tokens being distributed right away, with 6.75 billion tokens set aside for future release.
Adding to the drama, 2.3 million users were blacklisted for cheating, further reducing the pool of eligible players. Reports indicate that developers acted swiftly to preserve the integrity of the game and ensure a fair token distribution, allowing only legitimate players to benefit.
A Web3 Powerhouse Amid Controversy
Despite the airdrop controversy, Hamster Kombat continues to thrive as a Web3 gaming phenomenon, boasting millions of players. The Telegram-based clicker game has gained an astonishing 239 million users in just 81 days, solidifying its status as one of the fastest-growing crypto games.
Telegram founder Pavel Durov praised the game’s potential to attract millions of new cryptocurrency users, suggesting that titles like Hamster Kombat could play a crucial role in driving Web3 adoption by introducing digital assets to a broader audience.

However, the fact that less than half of the player base qualified adds an unexpected twist to the unfolding narrative.
While many players await their tokens, one question looms: Will Hamster Kombat’s next season bring even more growth and excitement to the Web3 world?
